Google+ Turns Away Subscribers Google+, Google’s social network, whilst still only in Beta testing has already become oversubscribed.  You can only create a Google+ page if you are invited to do so by an existing user but these invitations have gone viral and already Google have had to stop accepting new applications.

If you receive an alert from the Windows Stability Centre while browsing the internet do not click on any links contained in that window.  This is not a piece of Microsoft software instead it is a piece of malware which exploits a security loophole on Microsoft SQL based websites.

Chip Prices Due to Rise

Why buy your new PC now?  Japan is reporting that following the earthquake and subsequent tsunami the damage to the country and it's infrastructure will result in a shortage in the supply of computer chips and components.  Many factories are reporting that it will take several months to return to full production others may not even reopen.  At the moment the price increases have not hit the shelves but it will not be long before we start seeing price rises across the board on desktop and laptop computers.

Expat Shield are working hard to resolve the problem and have issued the following statement: 
"Currently our UK service is experiencing some down time due to a hardware issue, which is now being fixed. Full service is expected to resume in the next 24 hours. We value and care about all of our users and are very sorry for any inconvenience this issue has brought to you."
After the fix is in place, we will post again on our website, Facebook and Twitter accounts.
 
Expat Shield Stopped Working

Sorry folks, it seems that the Expat Shield program is no longer working.  Just as we get used to getting our regular fix of Coronation Street and Eastenders we are plunged back into the darkness again.  We have contacted the Expat Shield company to request their assistance and advice, if we receive any response we shall post more information.
