Have you ever been tempted to stick a Post-It note to your computer screen to remind you to do something?  If the answer is yes, you will be delighted to know that no matter whether you are running Windows 2000, XP, Vista or 7 you can without permanently marking your screen or leaving any sticky residue.

If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7 Home Premium or above you can perform this task without the need to install any additional software using the Sidebar Gadget called Notes in Vista or the Accessory Sticky Notes in Windows 7. 

Unfortunately Windows 2000, XP and Windows 7 Starter or Home Basic don't include this Gadget but you can still add little sticky notes to your desktop with the help of Hott Notes.  This program is a free download from http://www.hottnotes.com/ you simply download it and install it, accept the standard settings and you are good to go.  The next time you want to write a reminder to yourself, simply click the Windows key and the letter N to open a new note which will be pinned directly to your desktop.  With this handy little program you need never forget an anniversary again.
