Unfortunately with the increasing popularity of the internet and email we also have an increase in the number of people abusing the system, either by infection or data theft (see also Phishing). Relying on an anti-virus program alone is therefore not recommended. Ideally you will have anti-virus, a spyware removal program, a firewall and anti-spam software installed. It is possible to have a suite of programs supplied by one manufacturer, however if one goes wrong they tend to all fail. In our opinion it is better to share the load across two or more providers.For our domestic customers, we recommend AVG Free anti-virus, Spybot Search & Destroy spyware removal program, Windows firewall should be turned on and Mail Washer as a spam filter
